Why does anyone still think that Trump cares anything about the rule of law? If he has a power, he will use it. If it requires a lie or the agreement of sycophants he has appointed to high office, then that will be done. As it is now, unless Mitch McConnell brings the Senate to the side of the law, the democracy is finished. Just watch it happen, my guess is that Putin is calling the shots through some back channel.
