Oh well, this won't be the first democracy to lose out to dictatorship. Hope these Republicans enjoy the ride as dictatorships can be extremely mercurial, taciturn and otherwise unpredictable. I, sincerely doubt, our economy will be as robust under such a form of government, for sure science and scholarship will suffer greatly. I think Trump's first move would be to take direction from Putin, which means a rapidly shrinking economy as the Kleptocracy takes hold. Many wealthy people will probably have their wealth taken away, not much they can do about that. Nor would holding public office be any guard against attainder. Public officials and Judges will become mere rubber stamps of the dictator and/or his appointee's. I'd expect most of them to come from Russia as they would have Putin's blessing and Trump is expected to honor that. GOP will have finished itself off, the Nazi's will feel Putin's hot breath and Evangelicals will regret losing their religious freedom as well as our freedom of speech and privacy. Nice work Mitch!
