Herbert Hoover's mistaken idea's continue to deprive the nation of it's needs. He thought that business was in the business of creating jobs, so that, if he gave them and the wealthy more money, they would use it to create more jobs. The trouble is, no one makes money creating jobs, if that were true there would be jobs for everyone. Creating jobs costs money, if the products those jobs create are not being sold, the jobs are a waste of money The rich did not get rich by wasting money, they got rich by getting aboard products that would sell. So, if the nation is in a depression it means that too few people have money to buy products, thus workers are not needed to produce any more.
Put money in the hands of people who need to buy food, clothing etc., and their spending creates the demand that causes industry to hire and the economy to grow. Universal Healthcare is the standard in most first world countries around the world and they are doing just fine, they are not going bankrupt or suffering the ills these detractors keep fallaciously citing. Don't be fooled again!
