Hopefully Justice Roberts will not want to have himself and the Courts legacy stained and tarnished by him presiding, compacently, over a sham Senate trial. He knows what a real trial is and how to impanel a real, impartial jury. He can use his threat to withdraw to force a change how the Senate holds any trial, since they cannot go forward without him, nor can they change the rules to write him out. Thus the Senate might be forced to impanel a special jury and commit to be bound by its findings. Just a thought.
