Gee, back in the 50's and 60's onward, we used to marvel how Hitler was able to fool the German people so easily, we were sure there was something wrong with them missing the "clues" that a tragedy was in the making by way of a wrongfully selected leader. How easy, we thought it would have been, for us to have identified Hitlers objectives and reject them. Well, now we're finding ourselves enmeshed in the same sort of thing and our traditions and values are being shredded by a conman and liar and still we're paralysed and unable to bring the nation together against a growing concentration of power in the executive. Half of America and the party in control of the Senate, cannot oppose the creation of an unaccountable Chief Executive. A leader who is unaccountable can punish whomever he or she wants and that a dictator makes.
Step by step we are advancing down the path to a place where, because of our nuclear weapons stockpiles, terrible things are just waiting to happen. What comes next, if not avoided, will make WWII look liked a day at the beach.
